Entry Formalities
The arriving foreign citizens (physical persons of foreign countries) are allowed to import free of customs duties into the RA customs territory:
1. goods that are accompanying luggage, the customs duty tariff for import of which is 0 percents, and the total weight of which does not exceed 50 kg., and the total customs value is not over than 500 US dollars.
2. Goods conveyed through international transfers (parcels) the total weight of which does not exceed 20 kg, and the total customs value is not above 100 US dollars.
3. Per transportation means the quantities of the listed commodity categories in the Customs Web Site page: http://www.customs.am/physpersons/fe.php
4. Goods and items that are worn on or goods of personal use in luggage, such goods are considered the items which:
a) Do not bear factory packaging, stamps and are in the accompanying luggage,
b) That is worn by the foreign citizens at the moment of crossing the RA customs border, except of goods received in parcels.
5. Physical persons of foreign countries arriving in the Republic of Armenia for permanent residence can import goods and commodities for their personal use free of customs duties.
6. Physical persons of foreign countries are entitled to right of importing into the RA customs border goods and commodities belonging to them by inheritance right free of customs duties provided that they submit the necessary document certifying inheritance right over the goods to the customs entities.
7. The same person may enjoy the privileges envisaged by the 1 and 2 points only once per 180 days, 6 months, with exception of market places close to borders established on the basis of the RA Government decisions (Bagratashen and Meghri boarder markets), in which case the same person may enjoy this privilege once a month.
8. Medicaments and medicine designed for treatment and personal use, that are not exceeding the quantity of 10 names, three consumption packs of each, if necessity of a bigger quantity is not grounded in documentary form.
9. In addition to the above listed the physical persons of foreign countries are permitted to import any foreign currency into the Republic of Armenia customs territory in unlimited amount.
Appropriate customs processing is required for goods exceeding the mentioned in-kind quantities or money amounts in accordance with procedures defined by the Legislation.
In line with the listed privileges there are also limitations set for foreign citizens in case of import. For release of goods of obvious trade quantity declared by foreign citizens in import for free turnover and re-import customs regimes the customs entities require the following:
a) delivery contract signed with Republic of Armenia citizen, or
b) be registered as an entrepreneur in the Republic of Armenia in the manner defined by the Law.
In case the abovementioned conditions are not satisfied the customs entities shall ban import of goods into the Republic of Armenia customs territory.

Customs for Vehicles
If you are arriving by a vehicle that you own and will drive in Armenia, you will need to register the vehicle as a “Temporary Import” and complete and submit forms with payment.
The payment is nominal, but is due on entry and exit from the country.

Passports and Visas
The most common form of visa are visitor visas, which is issued for up to 120 days of stay, as single or multiple entry visas. These longer visas are available at Armenian consulates and embassies and at the Zvartnots Airport immigration point.
Visas are issued in diplomatic missions and consular posts of the Republic of Armenia, at the border crossing points of the Republic of Armenia (conventional visas) or electronically (e-Visa, to apply click here ).
Note that land crossing and E-visas are only good for 21-days of travel in the country.
