You have 3 main choices to pick from if you are willing to give rafting in Armenia a go: Dzoraget (5 level of difficulty for rafting), Debed (4 level), and Tartar in Artsakh (3 level).

Rafting in Armenia and Rafting.am are the two options to consider if you want to give rafting a go, both are well-equipped with all the necessary means and consist of a professional team that will make sure you have the safest and smoothest experience.

Dzoraget

Located 160 km from Yerevan, near the city of Stepanavan this is the most challenging option for rafting , perfect if you already are an experienced rafter. The river has the 5th, highest difficulty level for rafting and has a high number of obstacles. The route is 30 km long. The duration of a rafting tour can take from 4 to 7 days, depending on the season and the level of training of the group. The best time to go rafting is May as the weather is favorable and the water level is high.

Other than the adrenaline rush, and fun, you will be also having a rich cultural experience. Given that there is plenty to see and discover in this area such as the Lori Fortress, Khnevank Monastery, etc…

Debed

The Debed River is 152 km long and presents a level 4 difficulty. The most favorable time for rafting, in terms of weather and water level, is the period from March to October. Near the river there are several attractions, including the monasteries of Haghpat, Sanahin and others.

Tartar

Tartar is the largest river in Artsakh with a length of 184 km. The best time for rafting on Tartar is spring, in particular May. The river is surrounded by dense forests typical of Artsakh with lush green scenery, the picture perfect place for an adventure filled day.
