​Trchkan waterfall

Armenia is famous around the world for its incredible forests, mountains, rivers and lakes. The Armenian nature will not leave you indifferent, and the Trchkan waterfall is there to prove it.

The waterfall is located above the Chichkhan River, which originates from the slopes of the Shirak Ridge, located at an altitude of 2250 meters above sea level. The locals once saw a trout in the river, gracefully jumping over a waterfall, the jump reaching 23 meters in height. After that, the locals began to call this waterfall Trachkan, which means "jumping" in Armenian.

Water pouring down the waterfall is crystal clear and after witnessing it once, you won’t be able to mix it up with any other place. The Trchkan waterfall is also called the Armenian Niagara. This landmark was listed as a Natural Heritage site in 2008, and was included in the Protected Sites of Armenia in 2011.

Khndzoresk Swinging Bridge

One of the most beautiful places in Armenia is the swinging bridge located above the gorge of Old Khndzoresk. If you love the thrill and are not scared of heights, then this bridge will be the perfect place for you to take incredible photos. From the bridge there is a picturesque view of the gorge, covered with green forests and ancient caves.
The suspension bridge connects the two banks of Old Khndzoresk. Throughout the construction of the bridge the locals made sure to preserve the nature around at best of their abilities. The length of the bridge is 160 meters, the latitude is 1.5 meters, and the height is 63 meters. When you try to look down you will be caught in awe!
The village of Khndzoresk is located in the province of Syunik, Armenia (8 kilometers to the town of Goris). Due to this beautiful construction and its great beauty, the Goris region attracts more and more tourists each year.


One of the most beautiful and picturesque places in Armenia is Tatev monastery and its surrounding sites. The monastery is not far (30 kilometres) from one of the most picturesque cities of Syunik province, and all of Armenia in general: Goris. This area is famous for being a home to the longest reversible cable car in the world. Its length is 5752 meters, and the height is 320 meters. This cable car was even included in the Guinness Book of Records.

The path towards the monastery in the cable car takes around 12 minutes . Throughout the ride  
you’ll fly over the gorge of the Vorotan River. The cable car itself is very safe, it is serviced by modern engineering solutions of the Austrian-Swiss group Doppelmayr / Garaventa. From this incredible height you’ll be able to take a huge row of beautiful and unique photos that will definitely make even the most ardent travelers envious.

There are many legends about the name of the monastery. One of the legends states that after the architect completed his work on the monastery, he stood on the edge of the abyss and shouted: "Ognir, Surb, tur tev!", Which means "Holy Spirit, give me wings!". However, to this day there are no reliable sources about who and when gave the name "Tatev" to the monastery.

Mount Aragats

The highest mountain of modern Armenia, Aragats, is only within a few hours ride from the capital Yerevan. Aragats is an extinct volcano with four peaks. When viewed from above, those peaks resemble a flower that has bloomed.

The central elevation of Aragats covers an area of ​​more than 820 square kilometers. All of the four peaks of Mount Aragats have different heights. The highest is the northern peak with a height of 4090 meters, followed by the western peak which is 4001 meters, then the eastern peak - 3,916 meters and the lowest, the southern peak, 3879 meters. Most tourists choose to climb the southern peak, the easiest of all four.

You just have to look down from the top of the mountain and you will immediately feel an adrenaline rush! Peace, harmony, unity of the soul with nature and unforgettable memories await you on the top of Mount Aragats.

If you don’t want to climb one of the mountain peaks, then you can stay at the foot of the mountain and enjoy a beautiful view not only of Mount Aragats, but also the crystal lake of Kari, which means "Stone". On the territory of the lake there are a lot of stones of the most different bizarre forms and the lake itself is located at an altitude of 3207 meters.
