Saint Mesrop Mashtots Cathedral

Oshakan village’s Mesrop Mashtots Church was built in the 19th century, replacing a 5th century chapel built over the grave of the creator of the Armenian alphabet Mesrop Mashtots, who died in 440. The church is a relatively plain basilica with a bell tower.
