The venue is going to be rather spacious, about 7-8 thousand hectares, covered in graffiti. EPIC EYE is going to have a well-prepared stage that recreates the atmosphere of Tomorrowland and Coachella. The three-day fest is going to be filled with activities. Starting from morning yoga to zorbing, a large variety of entertainment options will be available to the audience. You’ll have the opportunity to zipline over the crowds while your friends use the trampoline. In short, EPIC EYE is going to be every adrenaline junkie’s favorite fest.
The venue is going to have all sorts of essential needs provided to participants. People will be able to rent tents, have a food court that serves for vegans, vegetarians and meat-eaters, and every transaction will take place through special cards provided by the team instead of cash. People who don’t wish to spend the night in a tent will have accommodation packages to stay in nearby hotels with affordable prices.
The first and foremost aim of EPIC is to bring more young students and tourists to a place where they can connect through education and music. EPIC EYE music and arts festival will not only allow young tourists to see Armenia as a country with rich cultural and historical values, but also as a country where you can network with local students.
Simultaneously, EPIC EYE aims to base a well-established music culture in Armenia. Instead of associating the word “festival” with dolma or wine, it can be used alongside “music”. Instead of going to other countries to attend raves and festivals, Armenia can be the destination where music lovers from all over the world come to enjoy a wide variety of music in the lap of nature. You never know, you might discover your new favorite artist at EPIC EYE!
How it all began?
First organized in 2016, the project was sort of a summer school, or an educational camp, the aim of which was to bring foreign students to Armenia to let them learn about Armenia, be involved in Armenian educational institutions, and promote intercultural dialogue.
Inspired by the big success, the organizers arranged a successful rebranding of the project the following year, in 2017, ultimately naming the it “EPIC” (Educate, Play, Inspire, Create). That year, EPIC EYE brought 150 international students to Tsaghkadzor, Armenia. And when the 20-day-camp was about to end, the organizers decided to throw a closing concert for the participants. Various Armenian rock bands participated in the concert, and that is when organizers felt how much success the music fest brought in. Last year, the festival was estimated to host around 1,000 participants, while it actually hosted 2,000. It was thus successful enough to have been included in the top 5 best festivals in the CIS.
Why “EPIC EYE”?
The idea behind the festival’s name is the notion of the “third eye”. The vibes of the festival will take you away from the daily reality, make you open your “third eye”, and feel the epic power of music and art even more strongly.
Who will perform?
The first day of these 3-day-festival will be dedicated to electronic music. So, metalheads and rock and roll lovers aren’t going to be alone this year. Rock is going to be accompanied by electronic and alternative music as well.
The first day of the fest is set to have electronic music, rock is saved for the second day, and the third day is reserved to have an EPIC special. Who knows, maybe a big surprise awaits! The headliners of the first day will include artists like Ten Walls, Paji, Tube & Berger, as well as other Armenian performers. The second day you will hear rock, and the third day – alternative rock. The headliners will be Vuur (the Netherlands), Poem (Greece), Leprous (Norway), Lady Heroine (Georgia), Pierre Edel (France), etc. The Armenian bands that will perform will be Dogma, Vordan Karmir, Nemra, and Lelocity.
