The international Armenian film festival “ReAnimania” will open its doors for cartoon lovers for the 11th time. ReAnimania is one of the largest and most unique events in the field of animated films in the post-Soviet space.

The history of Armenian animation began 81 years ago, since the release of the first Armenian cartoon by Lev Atamanov “Dog and Cat” in 1938. Since then, a lot of cartoons have been shot at the Yerevan film studio, including such well-known ones as “Bah, it՚s Pancake and Butter feast!” and “In the Blue Sea, in White Foam”.

The mission of the festival is to expand creative boundaries through the art of animation. The main goals of “ReAnimania” are to promote the development of animated art and the formation of a new generation of world-class Armenian animators, as well as the creation of a forum where the best animated films from around the world are shown.

Today ReAnimania has become one of the most important festivals for young animators from around the world. Since the founding of the festival, more than 20,000 spectators have visited it, and representatives of more than 75 countries have become participants. Among the world-famous animated films that premiered at ReAnimania in Yerevan were: “Cheatin՚”(Bill Plymton), “The Secret of Kells” (Tomm Moore), “Sita Sings the Blues” (Nina Paley), “Waltz with Bashir” (Ari Folman), “Boy and the World” (AlՍ Abreu), “Rocks in My Pockets” (Signe Baumane), “The Mechanics of My Heart” (Mathias Malzieu and Stefan Berla) and many others.
ReAnimania collaborates with international film festivals such as Annecy IAFF (France), Stuttgart Trikfilm Festival (Germany) and Encounters (Great Britain), Golden Apricot (Armenia) and others.
In addition to watching films with the subsequent presentation of prizes, exhibitions, seminars and master classes are traditionally held within the framework of the festival.
