Lake Sevan is the largest lake in Armenia and the Caucasus region. With an altitude of 1,900 meters above sea level, it’s one of the highest lakes in the world. Camp by the lake and enjoy one of the many beaches along the shore.

​Lake Sevan It is the largest lake in Armenia and the Caucasus region. With an altitude of 1,900 meters above sea level, it’s one of the highest lakes in the world. The name Sevan is of Urartian origin, and is derived of Siuna, meaning county of lakes.

The Armenian Blue-Eyed Beauty 

The lake is divided into two sections: Big Sevan and Small Sevan. Big Sevan covers 972 km2 and Small Sevan - 284 km2. The lake is fed by 28 rivers and streams, and is the source for only one - the Hrazdan River.

​In summer, Sevan becomes a tourist magnet and both local and foreign tourists spend their holidays by the lake. Tourists can camp by the lake and enjoy the beaches along the shore. There are lots of resorts and facilities, as well as campgrounds and picnic areas.
