How to Get to Armenia?

There are several ways to visit Armenia. The quickest and most direct route is by plane. There are numerous direct flights from cities throughout Europe. Transit flights are also available, and you will arrive at Zvartnots International Airport in Yerevan. Because Armenia has become a popular tourist destination, airlines offer flights to Yerevan from many popular cities daily, allowing for seamless travel. Another option for visiting Armenia is via land borders, such as Georgia or Iran. If you have a combined tour that includes neighboring countries, this is an excellent way to reach Armenia. Now that you've figured out how to get to Armenia, it's time to see what you can do once there.

Things to do

Armenia is a popular tourist destination due to its rich historical and cultural heritage. You'll have a great time exploring medieval monasteries, fortresses, and temples here. You will undoubtedly appreciate the legacy of applied arts, miniatures, and sculptors in various museums and galleries throughout Yerevan and the surrounding areas. If you prefer active sports, seasonal activities, and spa and wellness experiences, Armenia has a lot to offer. Ziplining, rafting, skiing, and snowboarding are all available in various parts of Armenia. As a result, if you travel to specific destinations for sightseeing, you can combine such activities and fully enjoy our country.

Food: a critical component of any successful trip

Where to stay

“Things to do in Armenia” is appealing, but so are the lodging options in our small country. In Armenia, you can book hotels of various rankings and stars or keep on a budget while staying in hostels. You can also learn about local hospitality by staying with locals or renting a room in a B&B. In the morning, imagine tasting homemade food, freshly baked sweets, and beverages. What a wonderful rural experience! There are many places to stay in Yerevan and the surrounding countryside; you just need to find one that fits your personality. So, first, look at the map to see where you want to go. Later, you can narrow down your choices using booking systems and read reviews for each.

How to get around

Consider any mode of transportation (except water transport). That is exactly what you will find in Armenia.

  • Public transport? Yes.
  • Intercity buses? Yes.
  • Trains? Yes.
  • Metro? Yes.
  • Bicycles and scooters? Yes.
  • Taxis and driver apps? Yes.

Let’s start with Yerevan. You can get to Yerevan city center by shuttle bus from Zvartnots International Airport. To get around, take any mode of public transportation available in the city. There is a subway and public transportation available for 100 AMD per ride. For a more comfortable experience, hail a taxi on the street or use taxi apps. It's worth noting that, in comparison to many other European or North American cities, taxis in Armenia are very affordable. You can also use apps to travel on scooters or bicycles. But, in order to truly connect with Yerevan, you must walk it - this vibrant city will never bore you.

Have you seen a drinking fountain? Try it! It's the best water you'll ever taste.

To get to other parts of Armenia, you can take a train (like to Gyumri) or intercity buses from Kilikia Central Bus Station, Northern Bus Station near Abovyan City, or the Railway Station.
