Every December 7th, Armenians commemorate the victims of the earthquake of 1988. During this day, there are wreath-laying ceremonies and special church services. The earthquake of 1988 happened in the northern region of Armenia, more particularly in the cities of Spitak, Gyumri and Vanadzor. The different reports estimated 30,000 killed people and around 100,000 injured.
