This is not your traditional museum. Back in 1985, a local man named Levon began building an underground cellar at the request of his wife, Tosya, who wanted a space to store potatoes. But, once Levon started digging, he couldn’t stop! The result is a series of tunnels and caves that go as deep as 70 feet below their house. It includes small shrines, stairs, halls, twists, and multiple rooms. According to Levon’s wife, he was driven to do all of this using just small hand tools, due to dreams and visions in which a voice told him that he must continue carving. Though Levon isn’t alive today, you can visit their home and explore the tunnels that he carved.
