Symphony of Stones

Scenic views of the Symphony of Stones guarantee exceptional photos. Many people visit this natural monument because of its majestic views created by the collapse of volcanic rocks. Take a nice low-angle shot to include the massive gray basalt stones in the frame.

This monument is only a 5-minute drive from Garni Temple and consists of massive paradoxically symmetric hexagon and pentagon basalt columns (nearly 50 meters high). These stones suspended against gravity resemble organs, hence the name.

Cascade Complex

Climb the 572 steps to the top of the Cascade Complex, Yerevan's white beauty in the heart of the city. Sunset is a great time to take photos because the sunlight highlights the massive limestone stairway.

The Cafesjian Center for the Arts now occupies the building. The Cascade's exterior features multiple levels of fountains and modernist sculptures from the Cafesjian collection. To get to Shaki waterfall, travel to Sisian and follow the picturesque road that skirts the gorge of the Vorotan river. Park your car and take the rocky path up to the waterfall. Be sure to walk up to the metal fences in front of the monument to take amazing pictures with it in the background, and also marvel at the breathtaking views of Yerevan.

Arevatsag Gorge
