Café Culture
Armenia is home to bustling café culture
The flourishing IT, high-tech, and startup culture in Armenia, known as the "Silicon Mountain", coexist harmoniously with hip cafés. You’ll find a healthy dose of youthful, tech-savvy individuals working diligently on their laptops or simply hanging out with friends while sipping a delicious espresso!
Breakfast
Armenian breakfast is unique in each village and region
Most Armenians agree that the essentials include fresh farm eggs, warm lavash bread straight from the oven (tonir), cucumbers, tomatoes, sheep or goat cheese, cured meats like Basturma, honey, and a variety of jams, all enjoyed with tea or coffee.
Fine Dining
The unique twist
Mezze Culture
Mezze comes from the Persian word for flavor, and Armenian cuisine makes good on that promise! In Armenia, meals are a social occasion designed to be shared. Almost every Armenian restaurant will serve large shareable dishes filled to the brim with a variety of meats, spreads, vegetables, breads.
01
Out for a drink
It should come as no surprise that Armenia has a thriving cocktail bar scene and nightlife, given that a number of "celebrity" bartenders from Armenia have already won the World Bartender Competition and that there is currently the talk of Armenia hosting the World Cocktail Competition at some point in the near future. If cocktails aren’t your thing, don't worry, there are also various local craft brewers and brandy bars in Armenia where you can sample any of the country's award-winning and famous brandies.
02
Street food after a fun night out
A fresh beef or lamb kebab from a roadside stall is something every tourist visiting Armenia must try when traveling between cities. For vegetarians, a quick stop to grab some fresh-boiled corn on the cob will do just as well! In the cities, it’s easy to grab chicken shawarma on the go, some baked Msashot (Lahmajoun), or a warm ponchik (donuts filled with custard and often dipped in chocolate - the Armenian equivalent to a Boston Cream donut). Want something different? Cheers! Or in Armenia - Kenats!
