Whitewater Rafting on Debed River
One of the coolest activities in Armenia takes place on the Debed river, around 3 hours north of Yerevan. The river starts off calm but intensifies with strong streams. The entire experience lasts a little over 3 hours, and some companies will even pick up and drop off from Yerevan!

Bungee jumping in Hell’s Canyon
Just an hour’s drive south toward Armenia’s wine country, you’ll find the famous ‘Hell’s Canyon’. Home to a hiking trail and stunning views, you can also strap yourself in, listen to a brief but important safety training… and let yourself free-fall off the platform at the height of 65 meters!

Rock climbing in Noravank Gorge
Noravank Gorge, known for its steep cliffs of limestone and tuff with a road leading through the middle, is an ideal place with easy access for rock climbers! The approach to the climb begins just 10 feet from your car. The river and lush vegetation make this a pristine environment for climbers.

Paddleboarding on Azat Reservoir
Located in the Ararat region, just outside the city limits of Yerevan, the Azat Reservoir is a favorite place for hikers, backpackers, and fishermen alike. Increasing in popularity now is paddleboarding. After a short training, you can easily master this sport and spend the day paddling on the reservoir for 2 to 3 hours.

Mountain Biking in Geghama Mountain Range
Enjoy this 40km out-and-back trail in Kotayk, less than an hour from Yerevan. Considered to be a moderately challenging route, this is a great spot for mountain bikers, and it remains unlikely that you’ll encounter many other people on this hidden track. So be sure to enjoy it soon, before the secret gets out!
