Dear audience,
The "Altunyan" State Ensemble of Armenia, part of the National Center for Folk Music and Dance, will begin the 87th concert season with a vibrant and spectacular performance.
Founded on March 5, 1938, by conductor Tatul Altunyan, with co-founders composer Alexander Aleksandryan and ballet master Edward Manukyan, the ensemble was originally named the Folk Song and Dance Ensemble. It was composed of musicians, singers, and dancers representing folk arts and was the only one of its kind, not only in Armenia but across the entire Soviet Union. For 87 years, the ensemble has remained a beloved part of the public and has maintained its legendary status at the height of its success.
Throughout the evening, the ensemble will present the finest treasures of folk song, music, and dance, which have long been an inseparable part of its creative legacy.
