Celebrate one of Armenia’s cherished celebrations rooted in Armenian Christian traditions - the Blessing of the Grapes! Held right after the liturgy for Saint Mary’s Assumption, this heartfelt ritual connects faith, gratitude, and community.
Grapes, the fruit of wine and symbol of Christ’s blood, are blessed as a sign of thanks for the harvest. According to tradition, no one eats grapes or begins winemaking until this special day. During the ceremony, priests bless baskets overflowing with grapes, which are then shared with everyone—an act of unity and joy.
