The RACE is a unique type of Bicycling Competition called, “Ultra-Distance Bike Packing Racing”. The race route is typically, mostly off-road type terrain and extremely challenging. Some participants compete to win or place high in the finish results, others merely to say they finished. The ASCEND ARMENIA RACE will be between 1100 – 1300 Kilometers in length and be open for 10 days to complete, the top finishers will complete the course in 5-7 days. Our Race is scheduled to begin June 25, 2023, at Republic Square in Yerevan Armenia, finishing in the town of Dilijan some 800 miles later.

Ascend Armenia is an invitation and a labor of love. In the two years since the idea to host an event here first took shape, dozens of people have invested time, tears, and passion to create a beautiful, challenging bicycle event that would welcome people from all over the world to discover and explore this small but beautiful country.

Ascend Armenia is headquartered in Yerevan, Armenia, and is organized by people scattered around the world who are working towards our common cause. Our race is hosted for the benefit of the country itself. By organizing it we hope to encourage more people around the world to visit, ride, and love this place like we do. We hope that by hosting this event we can increase tourism and benefit both local outdoors-based economies. We also hope to encourage and support organizing and building local events and community for Armenian cyclists themselves.
