Perched at an elevation of 1800-1900 meters above sea level, Khachik overlooks the Vayots Dzor highlands. Every fall, the village comes together for a festival celebrating gata - a delightful Armenian dessert that weaves magic with flour, butter, and sugar. Festival-goers have the opportunity to experience gata firsthand, participating in both its baking and indulgence. Amidst the festivities, attendees can enjoy folk music and dances, partake in games, and explore a marketplace featuring local arts and crafts.

The highlight of the Gata Festival? Tasting the world's largest gata, skillfully prepared by the village bakers. This colossal gata, growing bigger each year, is an experience you shouldn't miss out on.
