Areni Wine Festival 2024

For the 16th time, the traditional "Areni Wine Festival" is being organized in Areni village of Vayots Dzor region on the first Saturday of October. Areni is known to many as the cradle of winemaking. Almost everyone in the village has created all the facilities for viticulture and wine production in his house and in his garden.

Taking into account the agricultural and touristic potential of this place, years ago it was decided to hold the "Areni Wine Festival", which would give domestic winemakers the opportunity to present their products to a wider audience.

Today, thanks to the festival, wine tourism has developed, new wineries have been opened, gastro yards have increased, and grape varieties have improved. The number of guest houses, which have increased by 18 in 15 years, and five new home restaurants also speak of the development of tourism in the community. And the number of family winemakers increased by about 130.

Continuing our goal - to position Areni and Armenia on the international market as a leading country of winemaking, this year we are also organizing a festival that was loved by villagers, compatriots and tourists.

The event will begin with a grape pressing ceremony, which is a symbol of winemaking. Wines of local and industrial winemakers will be presented at the festival, and the atmosphere of the event will be provided by national music and dances.

The festival is implemented with the support of the Tourism Committee of Armenia.
